Body:  Nice body and paint condition. The engine bays as clean as the CELERY paint of the exterior.
15 inch Alloy wire styled wheels carry the enormous 205 / 70R / 15 Radial tires in style.

Engine and Transmission: In 2014, I track down the leading, Volvo engine rebuilder, Phil Singher at his business V-CLASSICS MOTORSPORTS. I optioned for the BRUTE engine rebuild, upping the horsepower to 193, with the use of larger Custom Ross racing forged pistons, custom Schneider, racing cam, large exhaust valves, More porting and polishing of the combustion chamber. Rebuild included cam lifters all bearings, bushings oil pump, water pump, refurbish rocker arms very nice paint job stainless steel hardware where appropriate, And to top it off with a tuned sport header exhaust. The four-speed manual transmission was serviced including the electronic overdrive. A new balanced , lightened flywheel was installed. And custom driveline completed the year-long build.

Other Restoration and Parts Installed:  One the first items I tackled since purchasing was Installing a new heater control valve, as well as heater, hose and clamps. I installed a tachometer on the dashboard, As well as a trio of lighted VOLT, OIL PRESSURE, and TEMPERATURE GAUGES underneath. Front control arm bushings, all four swing arm bushings from idler arm and lower control, bushings front and rear were all replaced, as well as blue and a roll bars with IPD POLY BUSHINGS where appropriate.
In 2015 a new Master Brake Remote Vacuum Servo Unit was installed. Safety First ! I also had a new Aluminum radiator installed. The rear brakes were rebuilt, as well as new wheel cylinders.

Interior: I updated the carpeting to butterscotch throughout the cabin and cargo area. New custom door cards for front doors and cargo sides.

Running Condition: The car starts right up, almost without cranking over, and emits the rumble Indicative of a built engine with a hot cam. This 220 Estate runs True, Quick and Comfortable thanks to all the effort, time and dollars I required to make this car safe and reliable

Vehicle History and Owner’s Comments:
I purchased this Lovely 1966 Volvo Estate in early 2009 , almost by accident.I had been looking for 66, 67, 68:Volvo’s estate wagon for a while. I love the style, the compactness, yet the roomy is cargo area. I loved the fact that it was bathed in chrome. I purchased it from an older gentleman whom also had a fondness for Volvo‘s. He was selling because his wife wanted her space in the garage. He owned the car for many many years, was knowledgeable about it prior history, originating in the Carmel California area.

Prior to selling, he had the car undergo a Buyers inspection report resulting in R & R, the usual suspects of keeping the car running top shape !( invoice included). I drove the car for a couple of years getting used to it, finding out its personality. It is also during this time that l did a lot of reading, research and asking opinions of other vintage owners. The very Honest reason for selling is, “ I simply don’t drive it enough “ ! The next owner will get a great car, hopefully without any worries or concerns, and somehow make it the wrong. I think the car is at the top of its game now. I am pleased and hopeful It will reside in the garage of another VOLVO Enthusiast and see the road as it was meant to be.
