1954 Austin Healey 100/4 289-V8 repower-SOLD!


Click here for a YouTube video Our '54 Austin Healey 100-4 V8 is an amazing car - AC/Shelby Cobra like performance at a fraction of the cost. And much rarer that a reproduction Cobra kit car! Very solid, low rust straight body with steel fender flares with some paint flaws. Professionally built HiPo 289 engine, with headers, new Demon Carburater, electronic ignition, etc.  Freshly rebuilt Borg Warner T5 Heavy Duty World Transmission. Paint is only decent. Interior is okay. This car has loads of potential. Car is currently undergoing high quality, professional body and paint restoration, and later the interior remaining areas of the car will have restoration work as well. Indicated mileage is 83,873 miles Unknown miles on engine, but represented as low. Firstoff, please find attached 3 photos I took today of the boot/trunk, which shows some of the new and used parts for the car, including the spare tire cover/door , which is shown with red vinyl. Also shown is the fuel cell, new fuel sensor, new inside rearview mirror, new AH chrome script, and harder to see are some bumper guards, and a bag with chrome parts, handles, etc. Here is some information we were able to provide you, which is accurate to the best of my mechanic and my knowledge: Engine: Appears to be an early 289 V8. Unknown bore, and unknown pistons, crank etc. Cam has an aggressive street grind, and appears to be hydraulic cam. Carb : Demon..Probably 600-650 cfm Intake; Edelbrock 289 Torque –alloy intake Misc. Cobra Alloy valve covers. Exhaust: Headers and side pipe/muffler Ignition: Mallory Unilite pointless electronic ignition Wires: Malloy 8mm Radiator: Northern Aluminum radiator Aux. Cooling: Perma Cool 12V radiator mounter electric fan Good quality fuel regulator Gas Tank: RCI brand Fuel Cell Misc. Wheels. Western Alum Alloy Satin finish racing style solid wheels. Tires: BFG Radial TA all around. As indicated, for $25,000 the car is sold in current stage of restoration. Is is presently not driving, as the trans is out. We are keeping the aftermarket, Ford 289 to Chev transmission Bell housing and clutch and flywheel (4spd application) We will install a Ford C4 automatic with correct style flex plate, bellhousing and torque converter, which will allow the car to be transported with engine and trans mounted as a unit.
